The Alpert Mendelson Library
at Temple Solel
The Alpert Mendelson Library is the largest Judaic library in Northern San Diego County. The library is one of a select number of facilities that was awarded Advanced Accreditation by the Association of Jewish Libraries in 2005 and again in 2008 and 2012. The collection of approximately 10,000 volumes is divided into an Adult Library, the Aaron Price Children’s Library, an extensive Reference Section, and Holocaust and Parenting areas. The Media Section includes numerous audiobooks, DVDs and musical CDs.
The library staff works closely with our Religious School and Early Childhood Education Directors to insure that our children are exposed to the very best in Jewish literature. Religious School students visit the library for story time, ECC students also visit for monthly story time, while our Kindergarten comes in weekly.
