Our youth opportunities at Temple Solel are engaging, joyous, and rooted in belonging for all. Friendship, fun, connection, growth, leadership, and positive Jewish memory making are just some of the benefits Temple Solel offers our vibrant youth community. No matter your interests, needs, or personality type, there is a home for everyone here. There are so many choices awaiting you!

Teen Journey

The Teen Journey experience invites 7-12th graders to explore life’s most relevant issues through a Jewish lens, deepen their friendships, and build connections with Temple Solel’s clergy and leadership. Teen Journey encourages our teens to ask questions, think critically, and challenge themselves and each other in creative, soulful, and deep ways.

Teen Kibbutzim

Teen Kibbutzim creates opportunities for 7-12th graders to conect in small groups, called Kibbutzim (singluar, “kibbutz”), based on shared interests and/or hobbies. Additionally, each group is supervised and mentored by a vetted adult from the Temple Solel community. Each group gathers monthly from September through May to adventure, skill build, learn, and have fun making connections and explore ideas, activities, and our community.

Volunteer and Work Opportunities
Camp Simcha and the Religious & Hebrew School are seeking volunteers (7-10th graders) and assistant teachers, teachers, and counselors (11th – college-age) to act as role models, creative helpers, young educators, and support for young children in classrooms and at camp.

Teen Shabbat Jam
This monthly teen offering is a Friday night Shabbat service led by our teen band, Kavannah. Each evening is filled with interactive dialogue, great music, meditation, socializing, and of course delicious snacks!

NFTY Trips
NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth) hosts incredible weekends away with other Reform Jewish 9-12 graders from all over Southern California! It’s like Jewish overnight camp during the year!
