4 Ways to Get Involved
Ritual & Practice
The prayer experience at Temple Solel blends tradition with creativity. The soulful incantations of Jewish ritual come alive with musical richness. Cantor Billy Tiep and Rabbi Alexis Berk weave modern interpretations around ancient foundations.
From traditional drash and prayer services, to musical Shabbat at the beach, to communal Shabbos table potluck dinners, and courtyard picnic services in the summer, Temple Solel offers a variety of practices that are inclusive and inviting.
Learning
Adult and child education at Temple Solel is from an experiential and experimental perspective, emphasizing interactive and hands-on learning. An always evolving variety of educational opportunities exist year round for our youngest members, elementary age students, teens, and adults.
Educational and social opportunities for adults and children include “Lessons of the Lagoon” hiking and learning with Rabbi Berk, affinity groups for 7-12 graders, weekly Torah study, women’s Rosh Chodesh monthly gatherings, meditation cohorts, adult hebrew classes, Religious School for K-6, and more.
Small Groups & Chavurah
Temple Solel offers small affinity groups and chavurot as a way for members to connect on a more personal level and deepen their engagement and find a place of belonding. These groups are often organized around shared interests or life stages, such as hiking, LGBTQ+ identity, social justice activism, or pickleball. Members of these groups meet regularly to engage in social activities together to grow relationships within the larger temple community.
